As we head into 2014 and a new era of American health care and insurance reform, here are six quick facts that make the new regulations just a little bit easier to understand.
1. Pre-existing conditions are no longer a reason for denial
Under the Affordable Care Act, the days of being turned down or charged a higher premium because of a chronic condition are over—even if you’ve been denied coverage for that reason in the past, new regulations give more than 129 million American’s with pre-existing illnesses access to affordable health insurance for the first time.
